Terms of Service
The agreement between you and us: what you may point the crawler at, how credits and plans work, what we promise and what we do not.
Effective 21 August 2026 · Applies to PixyScan
1. The agreement
These terms are between you (or the organisation you are acting for) and Kiara TechX LLP of 1101, Time Square 1, Opp. Baghban Party Plot, Thaltej, Ahmedabad, Gujarat 380059, India (“we”, “us”). They apply when you create an account or use PixyScan. If you are agreeing on behalf of an organisation, you confirm you are authorised to bind it.
Our Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy, Refunds & Cancellation Policy and Disclaimer form part of this agreement.
2. Your account
- You must give accurate details and keep them current.
- You are responsible for what happens under your account, including what your workspace members do and what any CI client secret you issue is used for.
- A client secret is shown once. Keep it in a secret store; if it leaks, regenerate it immediately.
- Tell us promptly at support@pixyscan.com if you believe your account has been compromised.
- You must be able to form a binding contract in your jurisdiction.
3. What the service does
PixyScan crawls websites you connect, evaluates each page against a catalogue of 100+ checks, produces a health score and a list of findings, and compares each scan with the previous scan of the same site on the same branch.
It is a diagnostic tool. It does not modify your site, and it does not guarantee any outcome in search rankings, traffic, or citation by any answer engine. What the product does not do is described on the features page and in the Disclaimer; both form part of what you are agreeing to.
We may add, change or remove checks and features. Where a change removes something material you rely on, we will give reasonable notice.
4. What you may scan
This section is the important one. Running a scan causes our systems to fetch pages from a third-party server on your instruction.
You may only connect a site you own, operate, or are authorised in writing by its owner to test. By starting a scan you warrant that this is the case for that site, and you accept responsibility for the traffic the crawl generates.
- Crawls respect robots.txt by default. You may disable that for a site you control; doing so for any other site is a breach of these terms.
- Concurrency and page limits are set by your plan and enforced by us. Do not attempt to circumvent them, including by splitting one site across accounts.
- The crawler refuses loopback, private-range and link-local addresses. Do not attempt to use the service to reach internal or non-public infrastructure.
- Do not use the service to crawl a site in order to overwhelm it, to scrape content for redistribution, or in any way that would breach that site’s terms or applicable law.
5. Plans, credits and limits
Access is sold by plan. Each plan sets a monthly allowance of URL credits, along with limits on sites, seats, pages per scan, concurrent scans, link and image checking, and how long history is retained. The current figures are on the pricing page and in the billing screen inside the product.
- One credit is one crawled URL. A scan that fetches 400 pages spends 400 credits.
- Credits are drawn in order: the plan’s monthly allowance first, then add-on credit you have purchased, then any credit we have granted.
- The plan allowance is derived from the plan and the period’s usage, and resets with the billing cycle. It does not roll over. Purchased add-on credit is a separate balance and expires one year after purchase.
- When an allowance is exhausted, new scans stop starting. Data already collected remains readable within your plan’s retention window.
- A workspace is the billing subject. Holding several workspaces means several independent subscriptions.
- Seats are a limit, not a per-user charge. Pending invitations count towards the limit.
6. Billing, renewal and cancellation
- Paid plans are billed in advance, monthly or annually, at the price shown when you subscribe. Prices are in US dollars and exclude any tax that applies to you.
- Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period unless cancelled before it ends.
- Cancelling means one thing: no auto-renewal. Every entitlement continues until the end of the period you have already paid for. There is no mid-cycle termination.
- Upgrades take effect immediately. Downgrades are applied at the end of the current period, so entitlements you have paid for are not withdrawn part-way through it.
- When a cancelled subscription reaches the end of its period the workspace is locked: your data is retained and readable subject to retention, and nothing new can be started.
- Payments are not refundable. A purchased period runs to its end and the payment for it is final, whenever you cancel within it. Billing errors and any statutory right of cancellation are the exceptions, and both are set out in the Refunds & Cancellation Policy, which governs this in full.
- We may change prices. A change takes effect at your next renewal, and we will give at least 30 days’ notice by email to the account owner.
7. Acceptable use
You must not:
- Reverse engineer, decompile or attempt to derive the source of the service.
- Resell, sublicense or provide the service to third parties as your own, except by inviting members to your workspace under your subscription.
- Probe, scan or test the security of our infrastructure without our prior written consent.
- Interfere with the service, evade rate limits, or use automated means to place load beyond your plan’s entitlement.
- Use the service unlawfully, or to breach anyone else’s rights.
8. Your data and ours
You keep all rights in your sites, their content, and the data our crawl collects from them. You grant us the licence needed to host, process and display that data in order to provide the service to you — and no broader licence than that. We do not use the content of your sites to train models or to build anything other than your own reports.
We keep all rights in the service, the check catalogue, the guides, the software and the brand. Nothing here transfers them.
We may use aggregated, de-identified statistics about how the service is used to operate and improve it. Such statistics never identify you or your sites.
9. Availability and support
We aim to keep the service available and to fix faults promptly, but we do not offer a contractual uptime commitment on the plans listed publicly. Maintenance, third-party failures and factors outside our control can interrupt it.
Support is by email at support@pixyscan.com. We do not commit to a response time on public plans. An Enterprise agreement may set one; where it does, it prevails over this section.
Scan results depend on the target site being reachable and responsive. A scan can fail for reasons that have nothing to do with us, and a failed scan is not a service failure.
10. Warranties
The service is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent the law allows, we exclude all implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.
We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free, that every finding will be correct, or that acting on its output will produce any particular result. See the Disclaimer.
11. Liability
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
Subject to that, neither party is liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, revenue, goodwill, anticipated savings, or loss of or damage to data.
Subject to that, our total aggregate liability arising out of or in connection with this agreement is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim, or USD 100 if greater.
12. Suspension and termination
You may stop using the service at any time and cancel your subscription from the billing screen.
We may suspend or terminate your access if you materially breach these terms — in particular section 4 — if your use threatens the service or a third party, or if payment fails and remains unpaid after notice. Where the circumstances allow, we will give notice and an opportunity to put it right first.
On termination, your right to use the service ends. Your data is retained and then deleted according to the retention rules in the Privacy Policy, except records we are required to keep.
13. Changes
We may amend these terms. The effective date at the top reflects the current version. For material changes we will notify account owners by email at least 30 days in advance; continuing to use the service after they take effect is acceptance. If you do not accept them, cancel before they take effect.
14. Governing law
This agreement is governed by the laws of India, and the courts of Ahmedabad, Gujarat have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from it.
If any provision is held unenforceable, the rest continues in force. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it.
